GOOD CALORIES, BAD CALORIES According To The Experts
What a great interview with Gary Taubes, author of GOOD CALORIES, BAD CALORIES! Joy Behar, from "The View", is the guest host. Joy is pure 'joy' as she pins 'them'(the experts) down. The guests included Oprah Winfrey's diet guru Dr. Mehmet Oz as well as respected health expert Dr. Andrew Weil.
Five years after the round table discussion with Mehmet Oz, Gary Taubes and Dean Ornish,(see post below) the health experts are here again discussing the important health issue of carbohydrates.
I agree with Gary Taubes and the other experts as well. As I keep saying, each of us is unique and no one way of eating, exercising or life style fits everyone. It's great to have information that can help us decide which feels best and is best for us.

In an appearance on CNN's "Larry King Live" on Friday, October 19, 2007, the author of the book GOOD CALORIES, BAD CALORIES Gary Taubes was on the program discussing his new book challenging the conventional wisdom regarding fat consumption, a healthy diet, and the unique negative role carbohydrates have played in the obesity epidemic and other health calamities.
Featuring guest host from "The View" Joy Behar, the lineup also included Oprah Winfrey's diet guru Dr. Mehmet Oz as well as respected health expert Dr. Andrew Weil. The discussion was rather contentious as you can see for yourself in the following transcript of the entire hour:
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0710/19/lkl.01.htmlBut it was Dr. Weil's thoughtful and level-headed response to Taubes' book that stood out the most about this broadcast. In just those few minutes of airtime, Dr. Weil expressed precisely what Gary Taubes hopes that most doctors, nutritionists, and health professionals will take away from GOOD CALORIES, BAD CALORIES.
